The Lake 2009

At the beginning of August we headed to my parent's lake house on Toledo Bend lake. My grandparents used to live there and when they passed away my parents bought their house. I have so many fond memories up there, but as I got older and busier the less time I got to spend there. Kody and I were really excited about going because it had been two years since the last time we were there and I knew mom and dad had painted and really fixed up the inside of the house. Unfortunately I didn't think about taking pictures of the inside, but mom did a really good job of decorating. Kody's parents also joined us for a couple of days as well. We went out in the boat, tubed, skied, ate and played lots of games. We had such a great time. I just wish it were closer! It was a great way to end the summer!

a view of the house

Some neighbors recently put in a boat ramp right across the street from the house. It was really nice!

Kendall and I tubing! I realized that I am not as young as I used to be! It wore me out!

Kody and Phil tubing! It was Phil's first tubing experience!

Us! :-)

Having a blast!
Phil showing off his skiing skills!

I was hesitant to ski because of my knee, but I wanted to prove to myself that I could still ski! And I can!! I think I am through skiing though! I don't want to take anymore chances on my knee!

Kendall learning how to ski! She did great!

Mom driving the boat! She was the first to get out there and ski and show off!! :-) I forgot to get a picture of her though! She still has the skills and showed us all up!!

What a wonderful time I had. I haven't skied in years and was glad I could get up out of the water. I should have let Elaine stand on my shoulders and we could have done a Cypress Gardens show (that was a cool place in Florida back in the 60's - Ha!)!

Everytime your dad says something about next time he goes to the lake, I say I'm sure he wants us to go, too. =).

Love,

Dad
