A view of my world....

... my KINDERGARTEN WORLD that is!
School has started and I guess you can say it got off to a rocky start.  The first day was pretty rough.  You forget what the kids are like at the beginning of the year because at the end of the year in May they are so independent.  You have to teach rules, procedures, how to hold a pencil, how to use scissors, how to use the glue, how to line up, how to walk down the hall, how to sit criss-cross applesauce(aka indian style), how to get your lunch from the cafeteria, the procedures while in the cafeteria, playground rules and how to go to the restroom.  Yes that's right, most of the boys have never seen a urinal before.  The list goes on and on.  Each day has gotten better and better as we learn the rules and get into a routine.

I have a pretty good, but full class of 22 students with the exception of a few.

Here are some pictures of my classroom.  For those of you that don't know, I teach in an open concept classroom.  Which is a classroom without four walls and a door.  It is interesting and loud at times, but I am used to it now!

I enjoy my high school kids...I love not having to teach them how to line up and go to lunch or the bathroom. haha I had enough of that at the day care. But with high school kids, you get sarcasm and rude attitudes that you don't find as often with the little ones. I guess each age has its pros and cons. :)

Your room looks great. Where are the kids? Oh, that's right...they're not there yet. That's why the room looks so good! :)

You will forget the 1st day in a couple weeks. They'll catch on. Just be glad they haven't started eating the crayons yet!

Love,

Dad-in-law
